Naked by Kay Brandt (#erotica)

If you have ever watched shows like Survivor or The Amazing Race and wished they were sexier or kinkier, as daring as they are exotic, then Naked is the book for you. It is such a simple concept - a month long survival challenge, with two naked strangers dropped int the wild - but Kay Brandt imbues it with personality, drama, romance, and oodles of sexual tension.

Madgascar makes for a great setting, and we do get some of the travel-porn experience that makes those shows so popular. What we also get, however, is the bits you don't see on TV - the uncensored, lights-out, cameras-off, personal encounters that happen late at night.

Perfectly cast in their respective roles, Cadence and Jackson have as much personality as they do charisma. They are absolutely perfect for the show, and even better for voyeuristic viewers/readers who are more interested in body fluids than bugs. Their relationship is one built on mutual respect, with the two of them fighting their emotions, but it is hard to remain celibate when you are sleeping naked, pressed cheek-to-cheek night after night.

And, for those of us who are impatient for the sexy stuff, there are erotic encounters between the crew, with a soft sort of female dominant theme that I particularly enjoyed, plus there is some great stuff with Cadence and her boyfriend early on (I loved how eager he was to orally please her, something we do not see enough of in m/f erotica!). Really, though, as much fun as the sex is, and as satisfying as the realization of unspoken desires may be, it is personalities that make this so intriguing. You want to see Cadence and Jackson succeed in their challenge as much as you want to see them fall in love, and Kay does not shy away from the consequences of what happens after the cameras turn off.
